In-House Programs at Riverfront Museum Park
This program runs in collaboration with Rockford Art Museum and the Discovery Center Museum. Application forms are distributed to all third through fifth grade teachers in RPS District 205, allowing the most disadvantaged children in the district a chance to attend a summer camp at no cost. The camp runs for one week during the month of July, and focuses on art, dance and science and concludes with a performance on the last day of camp.
Fine Art Friday Field Trip
How can a composition tell a story? This year's theme, Inspired Stories: Tales the Arts Tell, teaches your students how art, dance and music can all influence storytelling. Students will experience three arts-focused activities integrated with language arts concepts and vocabulary led by arts professionals from Rockford Art Museum, Rockford Dance Company and Rockford Symphony Orchestra.
Held on Friday mornings for groups of 75-100 students. Grades: 3-8

Terrific Tuesday Field Trip
Fun and imaginative trips designed for K-5th grade students are available throughout the school year. Art and science integrated themes bring out the imagination in a child while enhancing classroom studies. In partnership with the Discovery Center Museum and Rockford Art museum, unique lessons have been designed to introduce a variety of topics, such as; Light and Shadow, Body Works, and Mixing It Up. Groups up to 100 students participate in 3 sessions in a 2 1⁄2 hr. timeframe between 9:30-12:00 on select Tuesdays. An optional 4th lesson and lunch room rental is available by special request. Cost per student, $9, and partial funding is offered by the Rockford Area Arts Council on a first come, first serve basis. To schedule a field trip, call 815-963-6769 or visit them online.

Chance to Dance
Together, the Rockford Park District and the Rockford Dance Company provide Chance to Dance - a semester-long dance program for youth with disabilities. This class is a technique-
based dance program that lets participants explore creative expression in a non-judgemental setting. Students learn basic dance skills and musical rhythms in a structured, but creative, environment.
